We’re Lemongel, a Cardiff-based band blending electronic groove with influences from Bossa Nova, jazz, funk, and more. We—Daniel and Duarte—met while working in hospitality in our early 20s. Both of us grew up in musical households, and between late nights and long shifts, we realized music was what we truly wanted to do. So, we started using every spare moment to create, experiment, and find our sound.

Duarte produces all our music, shaping the sonic textures, while I (Daniel) bring vocals and creative direction. Our sound is a fusion of everything that inspires us—Brazilian rhythms, the groove of Motown and funk, the warmth of jazz, the energy of electronic music, and the storytelling of hip-hop and soul. We take influence from artists like Nile Rodgers, Tame Impala, Anderson .Paak, and Daft Punk, while also drawing from the rich traditions of Afrobeats, disco, techno, and bassline. The result is music that feels both nostalgic and fresh, familiar yet unpredictable.

Our debut EP, Citron, features tracks like "The Chase," "The Other Side," and "Some Nights I Win," each carrying a piece of our journey. Now, as we gear up for a new project in 2025, we’re pushing our sound even further—exploring new influences, writing from experience, and creating music that resonates.

For us, Lemongel isn’t just about the music; it’s about connection, creativity, and making something real. We’re just getting started, and we can’t wait to share what’s next.
